Appearance: hazel has long blonde hair that just reaches her stomach. she has clear blue eyes and is pretty much the ideal picture for a girl somebody would want to go out with. right? wrong. she had scars covering many parts of her body and when she isn't wearing her usual baggy cloths her bones poke through her skin. she's a pretty unhealthy teen. she's six feet tall and thin as a rail. hazel can usually be found alone somewhere for she doesn't really like to be around people anymore.

Personality: hazel is kind of distrustful of other people. she tries her best to keep people away from her and really just doesn't want others around her. hazel's build makes her terrible for tasks that require strength and although she has a basic strength so she can lift her sword and punch pretty hard, if she was in a fight with somebody else with no weapons she would lose. what she loses in strength through she picks up in speed and stealth.
hazel has some personality issues. because her powers are so different they kind of split her into two different people. when she uses her water power she is almost always calm or sad. it's just the way it is. and when she uses her fire power she is going to be angry or happy. she has other emotions, but when using her powers those are the most prominent. hazel is quite a good weapon wielder, although she'll never admit it and downplays everything about herself. hazel also struggles with self-harm, depression, and an eating disorder, but that's something she'd never tell anybody.

History: hazel was born into a very nice family. sure they were never around the house and always left her with a nanny, but she was fine with that. she never thought too much about how other kids always had their parents around as a kid. she had many friends and she liked them all. she was such a happy kid, as anybody would tell you. she was smart and kind, just the person you would want to be around. but then as she got older she got more "teenagery" as some might say.
her grades had begun to slip and she became more of a introverted person. she was starting to get bullied by some people and many of her old friends stopped being her friends. soon she only had two actual friends left, and the bullies of course. she never failed any of her classes, but she was in no way the top of the class student she used to be. then when she was fourteen her best friend took their own life. this plunged her into a bout of depression that she refused to talk about.
as a side effect of being bullied she acquired an eating disorder. again she didn't tell anybody about this, or the fact that she was self-harming. since her parents were never around they never found out and her other friend never asked. she was getting really deep into her depression when she found out about her powers. she was really angry one day when she felt like something was burning in her stomach. then she created a ball of fire in her hand. from there she started to explore what else she could do.
hazel soon realized that her powers effected how she was feeling. she tried to use them less when she figured that out. she then heard about the island of people who had powers like her and how anybody with powers was sent there. so she quickly stopped using them all together. eventually though her bullies got worse. one day with she was sixteen they were pushing her around and she suddenly got really really angry. without even thinking about it she lit one of their shoes on fire. word of this spread pretty quickly and not long after her seventeenth birthday she was shipped off to the island.

Power(s): fire elemental control: hazel can control the element of fire. she can both create, and morph it to do her bidding, but sometimes she has a hard time controlling it. sometimes she can touch fire without it hurting her at all, but other times she'll burn herself trying to use her power. it also makes her either really angry or happy when she uses it.
water elemental control: hazel can also control the element of water, which is kind of the exact opposite of her fire elemental control. this is her more controlled power and is less of a loose cannon kind of thing. this power makes her either sad or calm when she uses it and sometimes she can manage to breath underwater as well, but like the fire element she has a hard time controlling this part of it and she might end up just plain choking on the water.
