Marin was sitting in a large tree, something she did often, but today she had picked one near the edge of the forest. There wasn't a lot of wind or sunshine where she'd made her home, deeper in, but she didn't feel very comfortable with the idea of going out into the open fields or mountainsides quite yet either. So she compromised with a sheltered spot with a view.
Swaying on her branch, she pulled out the apple she'd brought with her. It made a loud crunch when she bit into it, but she wasn't worried. Despite not being very high up, and having her legs hanging down, she was well-camouflaged and knew she wouldn't be seen if she didn't try to draw attention to herself.
She had long finished her apple when she heard someone approaching. She quietly drew herself into a crouch, leaning against the tree for support, and calmly watched the path, curious to see who was wandering through.
